A mother who wanted to call her baby daughter Cyanide – because that was the poison that Adolf Hitler was said to have taken to kill himself – has been thwarted by leading judges in a landmark case.
The mother, who also chose the name Preacher for the girl’s twin brother, insisted that she had a human right to name her own children.
But, in the first case of its kind, Appeal Court judges ruled that it was an “extreme” case and that the mother’s “unusual” choices might harm her children.
A couple who allow their twin boys to wear dresses and play with dolls insist that their relaxed parenting will make their sons better fathers.
Gabriella and Joe Haughton-Malik, from Sheffield, allow their five-year-old twins, Caleb and Kai, to make their own decisions when it comes to dressing up and choosing their toys. And as well as toy guns, cars and Lego, the excitable twins also love princess dresses, dolls houses and playing hairdressers.
The boys are not immune to the criticism, and are sometimes nervous expressing themselves around other people as they do at home.
On a trip to Ikea, the boys were too embarrassed to keep their dresses on after facing stares from other shoppers.
Is it me, or…?

Sounds to me like they are already learning that their loony parents aint like other parents and will insist on being properly dressed.
The kids will be alright….despite the parents!
It’s sick.
Dresses? Dolls? Sheer luxury. When I were a lad o’five all I had were a dead mouse and a stick.
I ‘ad to feyt wi cat fer my mouse. Anyhow, a stick tha says??? Thar must ave been a posh boy to ave a stick!!!
LOL!
Locally, we have had new mothers name babies such things as Placenta, Chlamydia and Tequila.
Think of it as the bright warning colours on poisonous insects and snakes, warning other species to keep clear…
