“Wah! Wah! Waaah! My Victimhood!”

Yasmin Ahmed in today’a ‘Indy’:

Calling for a British Independence Day is wounding to all the nations that revolted and fought hard against British colonial rule. Before we associate our EU membership with colonisation, we should think long and hard about what a country celebrating their independence really means. The EU didn’t invade Britain, enslave the British people, take away the country’s resources and destroy established societies, traditions and culture.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Back, back I say, to the days when life was violent, nasty, brutish and short (not my phrase) and you could not understand a word anyone 50 miles away was saying, let alone 5000 miles.

She needs to do a lot of reading and then she can maybe reset or, probably not.

Either way, I care not a fig.

What is it with all these ethnics that they can’t find a good word to say about our country. So, as has been said so often by so many, if they don’t like it here then why don’t they sod off to a country that is more in keeping with their chosen fantasy world. Of course, it’s a rhetorical question because we all know they’d have to be dragged kicking and screaming to get them out of our country.

Britain’s terribly racist, but they all want to come here. Hmmm.

The comparison is interesting though. We are talking about a different period in history when force was regularly used to take over other people’s countries. The 20th century has taught us that having wars has become very destructive and tends to lead to somewhat pyrrhic victories. So much more subtle ways of subjugating foreign peoples have had to be found. Gradually eroding their democratic rights while bribing them with other people’s money has proved highly effective up until now.

Irony escapes the Left, doesn’t it? Yasmina Ahmed, a female writer for a national newspaper in the richest country in the world, saying what she thinks. Imagine if – just for a moment – England hadn’t colonised india. Hadn’t brought government and schools to that country. Hadn’t encourage immigration and trade for goods and services.

Would she even exist? She certainly wouldn’t be allowed to, let alone able to read and write? Write what she likes? Forget it. Ah, so ignorant and arrogant are they, so easily they forget that her entire *life* exists because *we* allowed it.

It really is time she grew up and accepted the incredible privilege she enjoys because of those people she hates so much – the people who freed her from a life of illiterate drudgery.
