He’s been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in a young offenders’ institution, despite being 20 years old. I think we can safely say he’s had all the help he deserves, and then some.
His mother, who had been criticised by friends and family in the past for humouring her son’s obsession, said it was ‘a stupid prank which has ruined his life‘.
She added: ‘He needs help not prison.’
He’s not the only one. And not the only one unable to feel empathy, if she thinks it’s merely his own life he’s ruined.

Just because he didn’t succeed in killing people doesn’t mean he wasn’t trying. The path to a real mass casualty event in a confined space, is based on the infliction of injuries, leading to public panic and stampede, thus incurring many more injuries and fatalities.
He will be out of jail to do this again in about 7 years.
