Puzzle Corner

A bit busy for proper blogging so just out of curiosity I thought I’d ask both my readers (hi Mum) what they think this sign, which has recently begun appearing around Melbourne, might mean.

Okay, I admit that I have cropped the picture because otherwise there’s a complete giveaway, but when Mrs Exile and I saw it we wondered what non-English speakers would think it meant and I reckon showing it with the important text missing is almost the same.

Guesses in the comments, please, and if nobody gets it right (or Googles to find out) I’ll post the rest of the picture in a few days. Only bragging rights are at stake, I’m afraid. I was hoping to offer a prize of two week’s unpaid holiday with Julia Gillard but for some reason, no idea why, her office won’t take my calls.

It serves them right for making them so quiet, a well made one is almost silent.

Sounds like at least someone already knows or has worked it out. Ding! ❗

The collective noun for rhinos is a crash. Ozzes displaying subtlety?

The obvious is “hippopotamooses” on skateboards but obviously its not, the only other thing that would make sense is, “Hippo’s being transported”. Is there a zoo nearby?

Quite possibly they do appear near the zoo, but I took the photo quite a long way away from there. Wrong track, I’m afraid.

The Harry Potter ‘water-skiing budgerigar’ meme looks influential here. And why is he called ‘Spike’? Neil, surely?
Did bring back memories of the infamous Melbourne ‘hook turn’ rule though.

No sleeping in upside down double bed in rhino enclosure?

If you see this, it is just possible that the government is telling the truth about carbon taxes.

    Skateboarding can result in rhinoplasty.

I’m not going to sleep until I find out what this is!

    That rhino shouldn’t be skateboarding – he’s not wearing knee-pads or a crash helmet! H & S you know…….

    Gillard’s climate bullshit approaching?

Prepare to be dumped on copiously by CO2 taxes?

(I found out really, but I’m keeping quiet. South Croydon’s are noisier.)

‘Please don’t ride your Longboard into me, as an elbow in the throat often offends.’ Perchance? 😈

“a few days” I might not last that long, and if I miss the answer you will have me to deal with when you get up/down here.

If that’s from Melbourne then things haven’t changed much from the last time I was there with them being in the way in the middle of the road.

More of a problem when the cars have nowhere else they can be but the middle of the road as well.
