How’s This for Research?

Following Julia’s post on bollocks masquerading as research, I see that the Guardianista have been dipping their toes into the muddy waters of political research and they have come to some startling, nay remarkable conclusions –  Ukip and BNP supporters are both nasty extreme right wing knuckle draggers:

But perhaps just as striking is the response from Ukip to the report. We included a large number of Ukip supporters in the study as a rightwing “control” group to our more extreme rightwing BNP group. This owed less to a desire to discredit Ukip than to an attempt to explore variations within the increasingly crowded and fragmented territory to the right of Cameron’s conservatives.

Of course they weren’t trying to discredit Ukip, and we do believe them, don’t we? So, what is it that these eeeeevil right wingers hate so much, what is it that defines them? You might be surprised:

Like the BNP, at the last general election Ukip demanded an end to uncontrolled immigration, tighter border controls, the expulsion of illegal immigrants, the removal of benefits for remaining immigrants and an “end the active promotion of the doctrine of multiculturalism by local and national government and all publicly funded bodies”. This radical right pitch to voters included an end to political correctness and a ban on the burqa, and led Ukip to invite Geert Wilders to show an anti-Islam documentary in the House of Lords.

Or, maybe not…

Apart from the silly burqua ban proposal, which was highly illiberal, none of this strikes me as being out of the way. The Labour Party was proposing immigration controls leading up to the last election and the has been responsible for much of the theatre that passes for border checks that we currently endure. What is wrong with seeking an end to political correctness, multiculturalism and the funding to the parasites that feed on this disease?

And let us not forget that the BNP’s manifesto is predominately left wing on its economic polices. Indeed, so far is it to the left, it makes the modern Labour party look like a bunch of reactionary foaming at the mouth right wingers.

See, two can play that game…

Not only is it ‘not out of the way’, it is indeed what the vast numbers of ‘the public’ out there also desire.

Well, yes, I could have used the term “mainstream” which outside of the rarefied atmosphere of Grauniad Towers, it is…

I assume this is all part of the destabilising effort that’s being aimed at UKIP by the establishment, assisted as usual by the bbc, the Graun, and probably the intelligence services.

The fact that they think UKIP is dangerous enough to warrant a smear campaign is probably encouraging rather than anything else.

      Spot on, Peter.
It’s a clear sign that the recent EUSSR finance traumas and the accumulating immigration incompetence are garnering massive support for UKIP.
If the mainstream parties, and their respective media pals, can’t dispute the argument, the only weapon then available to them is insult.
Let’s all encourage everyone to vote UKIP at every available election and see how they wriggle when it’s finally demonstrated in the ballot-box – no denying or spinning it then.

There is a way to immigrate to the UK legally.

I would like anyone who opposes the expulsion of illegal immigrants to explain why criminals should be treated the same as the law-abiding.

If they agree that legal immigrants and illegal immigrants should not be treated the same, I would like them to let us know how they would treat the two groups differently.

My different treatment is simple and clear; Legal immigrants, ‘Welcome.’

Illegal immigrants ‘We’re deporting you now.’

Indeed. And when you arrive, assimilate into the host culture and speak the host language. Expecting this is not unreasonable.
