The Evil That Men Do

I’ve been somewhat intemperate in discussing this article over at mine –  intemperate being a reasonable response, I believe. However, a slightly more calm approach over here, I think.

We have a collection of EU fascists desiring of what they call a bottom-up model for the European project. Which would be fine if their aim wasn’t to achieve it by having it dictated from the top down. This, of course, being the only way these people really know how to work. The great and the good (them) know best how things should work for the little people, the great unwashed, the lumpen proles (us). And, so, their bottom up model is really the same stuff we’ve been getting all along, just under a different banner. The usual suspects are all there, waiting to dictate our fate to us –  including the wonderfully oxymoronic compulsory volunteering for everyone.

Once again, I have visions of nubile young Aryans doing their star jumps and press-ups for the propaganda films. Is it me or is history merely repeating itself?

A European Year of Volunteering for Everyone – for taxi drivers and theologians, for workers and the workless, for managers and musicians, for teachers and trainees, for sculptors and sous-chefs, for supreme court judges and senior citizens, for men and women – as a response to the euro crisis!

And who, precisely, created this crisis? Who was it that thought that disparate economies could be tied down to a single currency and actually work in the long term without it all ending in tears? Well, it wasn’t us. And now we are expected to all volunteer to fix it?

We, the undersigned, wish to provide a mouthpiece for European civil society. For this reason, we are asking the European commission and national governments, the European parliament and national parliaments to create a Europe of actively employed citizens and to secure the financial and legal requirements for the European Year of Volunteering for Everyone – as a counter-model to the top-down Europe, the Europe of elites and technocrats that has prevailed up to now that considers itself responsible for forging the destiny of the citizenry of Europe – if need be, against its will. For it is this unspoken maxim of European politics that is threatening to destroy the entire European project.

Well, at least we know who they are, having decided to sign their risible piece. Volunteering, something that is driven by individual conscience, is to be hijacked and made compulsory, after all, the only way everyone can be assured to volunteer is if it is made compulsory. Otherwise, it won’t be everyone. So, no longer volunteering then. But the wonderful statement that our destinies have been forged against our will by the top down approach and in the same breath talk of volunteering for everyone –  is exactly the same, only different. Here, then, is the evil at the heart of Europe. Frankly, the sooner the European project is destroyed, the better for the people of Europe.

I have a good plan for volunteering; it involves a huge shredder for the various treaties and EU legislation that plague our land before casting ourselves adrift. However, just before we do that, I have some use for several yards of hempen rope. When it comes to volunteering, you will find me very amenable…

Oh, that wasn’t what they meant?

The “elite” made millions for themselves fucking it all up for everyone else… and some dickhead thinks everyone else should fix it for free.

Well good luck with that. I’m busy that day. 😐

Allow me to volunteer this: to the Kommissars of Brussels and to all the micro-managing societal engineers of the nomenklatura – we will remember and our memories are long.

Intemperate? Well I’ve just taken a look and I can’t see it. 😀

What did the Khmer Rouge do with all the intellectuals, when they took over (or is that overtook) Cambodia? Forced to work in the fields, killed for wearing spectacles, or being denounced for having an education? I think this is an appropriate reward for all those who are currently employed in the EU conglomerate.

“For us in “We are Europe” the answer is this: Europe is a laboratory of political and social ideas without parallel anywhere else in the world.”

A laboratory? Does that make us the rats?
    Quick spot of eugenics anyone?

Volunteer? Who will pay for the compulsory (and expensive) CRB checks?

Oddly enough in the “Centre of Europe”, Germany, they dont have CRB checks. A friend is working as a classroom assistant in Düsseldorf, I asked her about CRB checks, she thought I was pulling her leg.
