The Iskander insanity

We all carry news of the latest PC insanity as it arises. I think we’re pretty well agreed that the lunatics are in control up top and this permeates down through society.

One area which is off most people’s radar is the middle-east situation which I’ve reported on a few times of late, with IPJ‘s help. The talk at this moment is of the chemical warfare, the sarin etc. and whether Assad gets his hands on that.

Actually, by far the more frightening is the arrival in Tartus, Syria, of 24 Iskander weapons systems. Now it just so happens that I know someone who worked on that and it’s not giving away military secrets to tell you things already known out there:

Armeiski Vestnik

As was explained, each one of those takes a crew of up to 30, trained up to 3 years. You’ll get an idea of its power from the Debka report quoted below. It is basically a game-ender and when deployed, that’s that:

In November 2008, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev stated in his first state of the nation speech that Russia would deploy Iskander missiles to Russia’s western district of Kaliningrad “to neutralize, if necessary, a NATO missile defense system.”[13][14] However, on September 17, 2009, US president Barack Obama announced the cancellation of the US missile defence project in Poland and the Czech Republic.[15]

Following the announcement, on September 26, Medvedev stated in a press conference that he would in turn cancel the plans to deploy Iskander missiles to Kaliningrad.[16] According to the e-mails leaked by Wikileaks, there are a number of Iskander brigades operational. The leaked e-mail was dated 13 December 2009:[17]

Now it’s not often the Americans back off but they do in the face of Iskander. What is so devastating is that it is almost impossible for an enemy to prevent launch and when underway, there are a number of guidance systems in operation. As one Russian I know said: “It’s nasty.”

Right, so it’s now reached Syrian shores and it’s just a question of time until Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi has it and its Russian crew at his command. As you would appreciate, if he can influence its deployment, it would be to wipe Israel off the map.

It therefore depends on where Putin actually sees himself in this conflict. Just how far is he into the Syria/Iran/Hezbollah camp? Or is his sole aim to cripple NATO for other obvious reasons?

What we have here are the makings of a new Cuba, circa 1962. What we have here is a new game of world brinkmanship, only this time it’s no Kennedy but an unknown Kenyan with very little spine facing up to Putin.

You might like to read the Debka report below:

On Dec. 5, the first American, Dutch and German Patriot missiles landed in Turkey.

Within hours, three Russian warships had put into Syria’s Tartus port – the Novocherkassk and Saratov landing craft and the MB-304 supply vessel. Aboard were 300 marines. And not only fighting men.

They also delivered a fearsome weapon for Assad’s army and a game changer in the Syrian conflict: 24 Iskander 9K720 (NATO codenamed SS-26 Stone) cruise missile systems, designed for theater level conflicts.

While NATO unpacked the Patriots in Turkey, a dozen mobile batteries, each carrying a pair of Iskander missiles, were fixed into position opposite Turkey, and another dozen, opposite Jordan and Israel.

At all their stations, the Russian missiles pointed at US military targets.

So while the West was gripped with alarm over Assad’s poison sarin gas shells and bombs and gearing up for missile attacks on Turkey, the Russians were injecting into the Syrian war field the most sophisticated weapon of death thus far.

The West and Israel have no answer for the Iskander’s hypersonic speed of more than 1.3 miles per second with a 280 mile-range and a 1,500-pound warhead which destroys targets with pinpoint accuracy. It is also nuclear-capable.

Russian President Vladimir Putin promised two US presidents, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, not to let the Iskander reach the hands of Syria or Iran.

Moscow has no illusions that once in Syria, the lethal cruise missile will pretty soon reach Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Saturday, Dec. 15, Iran’s chief of staff Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi warned that the Patriot missiles in Turkey portended world war. He was referring to the missile-versus-missile face-off in Syria .

By giving Assad the Iskanders, Moscow has plumped itself squarely in the Tehran-Damascus-Hizballah camp, whereas President Obama is carefully holding back from an unreserved commitment to the Syrian insurgency.

Some Western circles see Russia’s military intervention in the Syrian conflict as presaging Bashar Assad’s early downfall. The reality, according to debkafile’s sources, is that before he falls, the Syria ruler is getting ready for desperate measures – first by unleashing chemical warfare and, after that, using the deadly Iskanders for a last throw against his enemies.

OK, might as well go the whole hog. The biblical take is drawn from various books, including Revelation. It speaks of the 10 northern nations who war on Israel, armies of the south and of someone who will befriend Israel as its protector but then do dirt on it in its holy of holies. There’s also a part where a huge army from the east crosses the two rivers and somehow a gathering ground comes into it near a har or hill at Megiddon.

So, whether we come at this from the point of view of reported intelligence or from a religious angle, it comes to the same thing – there is an agenda going on and it is bigger than individual nations. It also appears it is no accident that it is centred on the middle-east. Groups who would agree with that take include the three monotheistic religions, the Masonic/Illuminati/whatever you want to call them in whichever manifestation you prefer, plus China and India.

There is one other group not mentioned in any of this and that is the godless common man of the west, who doesn’t believe anything is going on because he’s too rational to accept any of this lunacy actually happening. This group is centred in western nations and might number what – 200 to 300 million all up?

    ” ….but an unknown Kenyan ”

    Don’t do that.
You have just destroyed any possible argument you might have had.

Ditto: ” ….The biblical take is drawn from various books”
OK you are reduced to quoting BRonze-Age goatherders’ myths.
Yes, it is really really dangerous, & a lot of people could get killed.
But YOU need a head-doctor, quickly!

    However, & contrariwise ….
Yes, there is an agenda …
Putin is playing very silly, extremely dangerous games, because he’s got away with it so far, by bullying his own population, very effectively.
