Keep the bribes coming, or else…

You can always tell the measure of a man or movement when it comes under pressure or faces something they do not like. The smarter ones work to circumvent it, to find ways to adapt, others revert to type…

The government’s cuts programme could lead to “problems on our streets” and “the break-up of civil society”, three Labour council leaders have warned.
The leaders of Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield councils believe the cuts unfairly penalise northern England relative to the South.
They were “in danger of creating a deeply divided nation”, the three said in a letter to the Observer newspaper.
A government spokesman said funding for councils was “fair”.
The letter was a response to the latest cuts to council budgets announced earlier this month – of 2%, in addition to the reductions of about 28% already forced on authorities.
It was written by Newcastle City Council leader Nick Forbes, Sheffield leader Julie Dore, and Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson.
They believe northern English cities have been hit harder by the coalition government’s austerity programme, partly because of the withdrawal of support to deprived areas in place under the previous government.

I wonder if they thought about a deeply divided nation whilst opening the floodgates of uncontrolled immigration?

However, this is the usual leftist rhetoric which passes for policy in Labour held areas, a sort of give us money or their will be trouble statement. Though you’d think after 13 years of the previous labour government they’d finally be living in the socialist paradise they all claim to want…

Then again perhaps they are.

Austerity if it has to mean something means it has to hit all, not just the ‘rich’ taxpayers in the South of England and skip the cities of the North who had the largesse of the previous administrations budgets spent on them to fritter away on translation schemes and minority programmes to help them never come in contact with mainstream England. Instead of improving what they had, they spent it on things they didn’t need and now it’s time to pay the piper for the past tunes.

So what do they do? They threaten.

They’re basically saying give us money or their will be trouble, trouble which we will foment via our lackeys embedded in unions and communities. It’s how the left think after all, look at the ‘cuts’ riots a couple of years ago.

What they have created is a dependent class, a class who they have thrown money at during the good times and have now primed to riot when the magic money tree stops producing, something they thought never would happen. It is they who created the divide in society by making a life on benefits far easier than working to get the same gain.

If there is problems on our streets and the break-up of civil society, the blame isn’t to be pointed at the current government, though God alone knows there are lots of other things you can blame them for. No the blame lies squarely at those local governments who have mismanaged their budgets year in year out and now come face to face with economic reality in precisely the same way all other socialist dreams do. Their system only works until other peoples money runs out.

Well guess what…
