As things have moved on, the rally’s been held and the press have reported on it, the earlier text of this post is now replaced with the update.

Frankly, it was nauseating.

Not the rally itself, which was awesome – over 3 million throughout France and what were they marching against? They were marching against Muslim intimidation of their people.

And who has allowed that to happen? The politicians of the EU and leadership of the country – they’ve caused this multicultural dystopia.

And what did we see? Them linking arms in pretend solidarity with the people who were protesting against the very things they, the politicians had done.

The hypocrisy was beyond the pale. Spontaneous march, was it? Independent:

The most notable absentee from the march was Marine Le Pen, president of the Islamophobic, far-right Front National. She was not invited to walk alongside leaders of other French political parties but President Hollande urged her to attend as an individual.

On Saturday, she attacked the “hypocrisy” of a demonstration of “national unity” which excluded a party supported by one in five French voters. She announced that she would march instead in Beaucaire, a small heavily FN-supporting town in the Rhône delta.

The journo called her Islamophobic but that was precisely what over 3 million were on about – Islam and its excesses and threats to order. Were the politicians busy getting the deportations ready? Were they hell – they were out for the photo opportunity.

The presence of representatives from countries known for repressing freedom of speech caused some consternation.

Oh and which totalitarian countries would they be, eh?

Oh yes, here they are:

Paris attacks: David Cameron to discuss greater spying powers with UK security chiefs as calls to revive ‘snooper’s charter’ grow

At least the perpetrators of the trouble in the middle-east and founders of ISIS had the lack of hypocrisy – I hesitate to say decency – to stay away. Neither Obama nor Kerry showed their faces and rightly so.

I was out otherwise engaged today so missed most of the peace rally. Still I look forward to the 40 world leaders linking arms in a march for solidarity in Nigeria where 2000 have been dispatched in the name of terrorism.

Last year over 200,000 people marched in Paris to uphold traditional marriage and to profess the officially bizarre – and banned – idea that Life is valuable even in the womb. Men, women children, teens, kiddies in pushchairs walked in quiet order and peace, but were met by a phalanx of police who tear-gassed them and beat them with batons.

Talking numbers, 95% of the non-Muslim population of France did not participate in Sunday’s pantomime, making it a tiny minority sport.
