No doubt others will have much to write about the C4 mockumentary about UKIP in government.
Not having a tele, I’ve had to rely on tweets by known bloggers, e.g. Dick Puddlecote, Captain Ranty etc. But even their comments don’t paint the whole picture.
1. At the same time, someone called Trevor has flooded the Mail’s comments thread whilst the show was still on and the Mail has made no attempt whatever to stem them – must be running into the hundreds from one person, often the same comment hit key, post, hit key, post, hit key, post. The Mail itself has made it unmoderated which it doesn’t usually do when UKIP is mentioned – what, no one whatever at the Mail is monitoring comments?
2. The Independent is running a poll showing “UKIP is Britain’s most hated brand”. A poll at the Mirror had 73% of people voting UKIP but the one coming out today has them on 9%. Last Ashcroft had UKIP at 19% I believe. There are real porkies being told and sampling discrepancies.
3. Someone’s come onto Twitter with a pie graph depicting 43% of people on Twitter laughing at UKIP over the mockumentary and known Tory bloggers are flooding Twitter as well.
This, ladies and gentlemen, does begin to resemble an almighty stitch-up by LibLabCon. Breitbart is about the only outlet fighting back in any way.
The one and only issue is what effect will all this have on the average voter out there?
