The thieving, lying, conniving, twisted bitch!

From the Daily Mail pages.

During a BBC interview about the Mail‘s evidence, Oxfam‘s deputy chief executive, Penny Lawrence, admitted the policy of taking donations from those with dementia – as long as the person could answer a few basic questions – had been approved by the charity.

In an extraordinary defence of the procedure, which has now been scrapped, she said it had been to ensure that ‘people withdementia have the opportunity to donate to us if they wish’.

But she also pointed the finger at the regulators, claiming the Institute of Fundraising – as well as the Alzheimer’s Society and Age UK – had approved Oxfam‘s approach.

The Institute of Fundraising later denied endorsing the procedures that were being used by Oxfam fundraisers at GoGen, saying they differed from those issued by the regulators.

In the interview on Radio 4’s Today programme, Miss Lawrence also said the aim of the policy had been ‘to strike the appropriate balance between enabling people with dementia to have the opportunity to donate to us if they wish, but at the same time protecting them because they’re in a very vulnerable position’. But she added: ‘I do acknowledge, though, that to get the balance right with vulnerable people is extremely difficult. We are actually working with vulnerable groups to see how can we be more sensitive and get it as absolutely best as possible.’

So thats all right then; the screwdown on those nut-jobs ‘people of limited intellect’ can go ahead, because it is all being implemented by the rules.

In 2011, 40% of Oxfam’s income came from the state – it’s revealed in their published accounts.

This is the very model of a fake charity: government funded to put pretend pressure on government.

And those chumps who donate thinking their hard-earned goes to people in need should know their executives earn large salaries.

Perhaps the Charities Commission should require that every publication by a ‘charity’ should show, in a bold font no smaller than any other on the page, the total payments made to each of its top 10 officers/employees in the last year.
There’s nothing like the transparently disinfecting power of a little daylight.
Then see how much the nation’s dear old ladies will donate to these dissembling vagabonds.

Damned good job the Good Samaritan wasn’t an Oxfam collector. It would have been a very different parable.

      Amfortas,

Yes, can you imagine the script which had to be consulted’ and read out to the poor bastard as he lay in the ditch, before that same Samaritan decided that he didn’t comply with the basic requirements for help; as he couldn’t be considered ‘diverse’ enough for the funding: probably becasue he wasn’t either a raging queer, or transgender, or even because he was a Millwall supporter.?

I view the ‘new regime’ charities with a dark contemptuous hatred.

Aye from ‘Save the children’ to the RSPB – all of them have been overtaken by Common Purpose and the SWP social justice warriors.

To a man and woman of them, be they the old names of Oxfam, Bernados to the newer lot are sock puppets mirroring, the green chuggers – Greenpi** et al who purport to be “saving the world” and are actually filling their boots, spewing hypocrisy. All the while, doing the dirty work for the politicians – it is classic cultural Marxist tactics – blame Bliar, Staw, Broon, Mandelson for politicization, for implanting their cronies and malign ideas and gross malpractice.

Why are the taxpaying British public on the hook to these skulkers and charity con men? Further, yet more and MORE INSULT we are forced to donate 0.7% to despots and tyrants in foreign aid – here’s me thinking all charity is a gift, monies bestowed through the individual kindness of human beings. When, charity becomes a levy – then lets call it what it is – TAXATION!

Stop the taxation, end the giveaway and put a stop to these weasel administrators for good.

Don’t forget the NGOs in developing countries that seem to think that they should get a pat on the back for such things as a single standpipe for water in a village, where people have to bring containers to get the water, when with just a little more effort on their part clean water could be safely delivered by underground pipe to each individual house. That would also reduce the possibility of water born illnesses.
