Can’t Chastise ‘em, Can’t Leave ‘em At The Hotel…

…well, not without facing arrest:

A British couple were arrested for abandoning their teenage son while on holiday in Majorca after he refused to go home.

The pair, who have not been named, were arrested for child abandonment after leaving the teenager at their holiday hotel when he refused to board a bus with them to the airport.

How old was this poor delicate helpless little child?

Old enough to have sex in Spain, yet not old enough to be left without mummy & daddy’s hand to clutch if he has a tantrum…

Sentencing judge Catalina Mulet, summarising the events leading to their detention, said: “It’s been proven that the accused were preparing to take a bus around 9am on Wednesday from their hotel where they had been on holiday to the airport for a return flight to the UK with the rest of their family.

“When the eldest of their children refused to return home, the accused decided to continue their journey home and got on the bus.

“They left their son in the hotel despite the fact he now had no accommodation there and they hadn’t entrusted his care to an adult or given him the means with which to look after himself.

“The accused were arrested the same day at Palma Airport and their son handed over to the authorities for his protection just before midday.”

And we wonder why we are raising a generation of spoiled brat kidults who refuse to believe there’s any such thing as consequences…

    How ludicrous can we get!
My ex boss left her home in cornwall at 16 years old and started travelling the world as a make up artist
Jerry Hall left her Texan home at 16 and travelled to Paris to become a model.
My Partner had his first job at 13 and on leaving school at 15 went straight out and got a full time job.
I went on a youth hosteling holiday at 16 with friends all round Cornwall. Our parents weren’t arrested! these entitled, spoilt little phuckers don’t know they are born these days and when forced to face the consequences don’t like it up em! I hope this poor little child is happy in the care of social services. serve him bloody well right. Meanwhile due to his immature and selfish attitude his parents will no doubt be languishing under tagging and now with a criminal record. Incidentally it’s worth noting that this little bastard could be married by now (with parental permissions of course) would his parents then also be accused of abandonment.

It’s utter nonsense, and it’s yet another step on the road to even more stroppy and uncontrollable children in the future… 🙁

    From the British Army website:
“To join as a regular soldier you need to be at least 16 years old, although you can start the application process earlier, with your parents’ permission.”
So what’s going on here? Either the lad is an adult or the Army is recruiting child soldiers.
To my mind a chap’s an adult, but if he’s been treated as a child he’s going to act like one.
I remember, when I worked at an airport, receiving a phonecall in which a father was most distressed that his son had gone missing since he hadn’t arrived home on his flight.
Where was he? Amsterdam. What age was he? 27.
