Even within the areas which bloggers criticize, there is a hierarchy of targets, a set of favoured targets for criticism – jihadis, politicians, the left, the right, the Saudis – the criticism of which does not render one the antiChrist in readers’ eyes and as Chomsky noted:
Of late, social justice warriors, with reference to neither age nor gender are also fair game, a nice, safe way to play the game which is non-exclusive – all can play and all can be miscreants – and as long as we concentrate on someone’s stupidity or danger level to the public alone, we are not shunned by readers.
The climate gang, as in Paris, are fair game and no one will shun you for attacking them. You can criticize public sector workers as well.
Getting closer to the bone is race and even if Trump does not refer to race but to ideology and way of life, abetted by a religious book, there are still those desperate to sheet this home to race and thus avail themselves of the epithet racist to fling at him.
Getting a bit iffy now is criticizing the gay mafia and in order to criticize them, one must only mention, say, the way they go into schools and ask five year olds to look at their sexuality. One cannot go beyond that, nor ever show a connection with paedophilia.
But even that a pundit can get away with, with stats.
But there is one group, the criticism of which is fraught and I’ve seen for myself, to my own cost, that once you dare criticize them in the slightest, you are even shunned by those on your own side of politics. No one dare criticize them – they are Holy Cows.
You can criticize subsets within the group but never the group as a whole – quite rightly so, by the way, a point I’ve made over and over – and there is a most powerful force drummed into those of us of a certain age, drummed into us from childhood. One does not swear in front of them, one does not criticize them for fear of being seen as a cad, one must be gallant and chivalrous, even while being slapped or taken to the cleaners.
Even now I dare not utter the name of this fearsome demographic, it is just too terrible to utter, lest readers shun this post and this blog and never come back. That’s how terrible the consequences are for any foolish enough to put the head above the parapet. This group can and does criticize all and sundry and that’s fair in this world of ours today but once have the temerity to criticize much of what it does, this protected species and all hell breaks loose.
So let’s play safe for now, let’s wimp out and look at something else, courtesy of Chuckles. It’s about an ACLU board member and what he said:
A board member for the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado has resigned after urging people to kill supporters of presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Loring Wirbel’s Facebook post was captured by The Daily Caller – a right-leaning online newspaper.
The post states, “The thing is, we have to really reach out to those who might consider voting for Trump and say, ‘This is Goebbels. This is the final solution. If you are voting for him I will have to shoot you before Election Day.’ They’re not going to listen to reason, so when justice is gone, there’s always force…”
There are so many things to say about that, no? An analogy is the way Nigel Farage was attacked in the pub whilst eating Sunday lunch with his family. They, of course, called him a fascist and “deserving” of that treatment, of that level of behaviour.
Similar was Bunny Roche at the Clegg debate and the way she was 1. let into the studio by the Beeb and 2. her antics were fine for the moderator.
Let’s now look at the way figures on the right do similar, urging people to kill other people. Let’s look at Enoch Powell, for example and how he urged Brits to kill all blacks. Do you happen to have any speech of his where he urged this?
No matter, let’s look at Nigel. Can you provide me with a speech in which he urged the killing of Muslims? Can you show me the same for Trump?
These two people mention excluding and deporting known offenders – what Nazis, eh?
Moving on, look at the way Loring Wirbel speaks:
They’re not going to listen to reason …
Those words are directly lifted from what we say about SJWs. Yuri Bezmenov said this exact thing about the left activists not listening to reason and here’s Wirbel taking up the exact phrasing and throwing it back as his own justification for unacceptable action.
He uses “reason” and “killing”, one as the consequence of the other. That is his logic and as for the limits on what he urges, you can see for yourself.
Cue Goldsmiths and the student officer urging people to kill all white men. [Note I’ve carefully avoided mentioning the unmentionable demographic by calling this ungendered person “officer”.]
Now, I’ll go and make a coffee while you find violence urged by UKIP or the Tea Party, goading supporters to kill demographics they don’t like. It’s OK, I’ll wait here while you go off and find that.
Right here we are again. What I see in this Wirbel is a non-comp like Cameron, someone with only a vague grasp of logic who thinks it a hoot to use centre-right phraseology to try to make a point no one in our sphere would make – no one in the public eye I mean.
And then we get to the point of his uselessness as a person and ask how the hell did he even get appointed in the first place? How did that Bahar Mustafa get appointed at Goldsmiths?
And so, bearing in mind the word “uselessness” and throwing in “parachutism” and “the Peter Principle”, plus political appointments for ideologically favoured groups [remember we must never utter the name of that demographic], here is Kate of Small Dead Animals, one of the good people by the way, with an illustrative video of the principle:
Let me leave you with Kate’s vid below – you might bear in mind, whilst viewing, others such as Chloe Smith on Paxman, Louise Mensch, Rebekah Brookes, Amanda Marcotte, Charlotte Church, Rachel Maddow, Diane Abbott, Jody Farhat, the Chipmunk [remember her?], Sarah Champion in Rotherham, Hillary Clinton, Carly Fiorina and Patricia Dunn, Caroline Flint, Sotomayor, Nancy Pelosi [but to be fair, also Boehner], Penny Red, Bunny Roche, the list seems endless.
We are looking here at the issue of competence, parachutism and demographics:
