Please, Cameron, Tell Us How We Need More Tory Women MPs…

…because they ‘bring something extra’ to the table. That ‘something extra’ apparently being … well…. ummm…

Heidi Allen, the MP for South Cambridgeshire, Caroline Ansell, the member for Eastbourne and Jo Churchill for Bury St Edmunds were taken out to Lesbos by Save The Children, one of the main charities providing relief to the thousands of refugees as they arrive on the island.

The three MPs, all new from the 2015 intake, were called in for a briefing by Mr Brokenshire before they left on the trip to be “filled in on the Government’s strategy” for the region.

But Ms Allen said that after seeing “the discarded life jackets, the broken ships and battered limbs” of people arriving in Lesbos, she would “bang every drum” to get the Government to do more for genuine asylum-seekers within Europe’s borders.

So, it didn’t matter much what geopolitical information was given to this supposed hard-nosed professional working woman, once she saw the ickle kiddiewinks, her emotions took over and reduced her to a blubbering wreck?

/golfclap for this historic step in the advancement of equality, Heidi…

Ms Allen said she agreed to the trip with Save The Children when she had a “gut instinct we should be doing more”, without a clear idea of what that would mean.

“We have seen such uncontrolled immigration, and countries risk losing their compassion because they are overwhelmed,” she said. “It seems to me if you are a person looking at the statistics and infrastructure you will be terrified and batten down the hatches and say no more.”

Well, yes.

Because you’re expected to be that person, that person elected to receive all the facts, study them carefully, and then take a position that will serve the needs of your country and/or your electorate.

Not vote with your emotions, knowing that while the action you recommend may salve your own conscience, it’ll cause further misery and hardship for your own constituents down the line.

She is hoping to go to Italy next with Save The Children, where the authorities have a better grasp on who arrivals are and where they have come from.

“If I do get to Italy and I see there are unaccompanied children who have been identified, then I will be pushing hard [on the Government] because I feel that we do need to step up and take some of them,” she said.

Ah, the Royal We. How many will you be putting up, personally? One? Two?

Ms Allen said her own rural constituency of South Cambridgeshire had not been called upon to take refugees yet as part of the 20,000 pledge, and said there were “great reservations” in the area about how people would be integrated into the community.

But having seen the situation in Lesbos, she said she would “want us to try” and do more if called upon by the Home Office.

“We are extremely rural with very poor public transport links, so for the most part they would be stuck in the middle of nowhere and I don’t think that would be helpful.

“But I’ve had lots of people volunteering, and we would look to try and do something in the villages [near the city of Cambridge] where it might work.”

It’s not working very well so far, is it?

And these are the people running the country – no wonder it is in such a mess!

The next thing she, and the others, should do is to actually talk with her constituents in an open general meeting about her emotions and then find out what they want to do.

They are running it, all right. Running it into the ground!

What is actually missing from that above is the word Islam. Compassion is being negated by that word, unspoken, perverse and cowardly, try truth

If she has to spend my money on such trips abroad, and I don’t think she should, perhaps she should be using her time exposing the dreadful conditions that Christians in the Middle East are suffering at the hands of muslims. But she’s probably not even considered that as an option.

Any idiot who sets sail in a flimsy craft on the Med anytime after Sept/Oct even for a short sea trip is courting death by drowning, I never hear a word of criticism for the parents of the poor waifs washed up on shore – why not?

Turkey is classed by the UN as a “safe haven” and as a place of refuge.

Most of the gimmegrants are certainly not Syrian – only ~30% are – but Syria is the rod that strikes all our backs.

Syria will have peace, the Syrian army is mopping up in the north with Russia and Iran – will impose it, PEACE. Thus, what really needs to happen is for Dave, his mate Obarmy and the CIA, plus Dave’s other mates in France, Turkey, Germany and KSA-Qatar to stop funding, arming and encouraging the ‘moderate’ al Qaeda affiliates or opposition to Syria’s democratically elected leader, thus to allowing Bashar al-Assad to bring peace to his broken nation – or, is that too much to ask?

Can we have a bit of REALPOLITIK – sane, composed and proper logical sober analysis from our so called leaders and from our so called representatives: when Salve not for the Children come knocking – tell them to Foxtrot right Oscar.

“Stuck in the middle of nowhere”. That would be the same nowhere that seems to suit her constituents well enough. They, it seems, can do without the transport and services deemed essential to refugees.

    HELLO !

And to think, she is talking of friggin’ Cambridgeshire, seat of learning for well nigh a thousand years and a stone’s throw from London !!!

And they’ll still vote for her. They can be as tribal as Labour voters… *sighs*
