and smiled, and nodded, and passed by.

One of the truly terrifying things about modern politics is the manner in which our present breed latches on to something which sounds absolutely great (in theory) but don’t wish to say anything when the true ramifications of the loony-tunes policy are realised and explored in the cold light of reality.

When the 2008 Climate Change Act was rolled out, very few Parliamentary people had read it, even fewer understood it, and when it was passed by an overwhelming majority, fewer still actually knew the disastrous impact it would have upon Britain’s economy. Written by a Friends of the Earth lobbyist, pushed by David Cameron, adopted by David Milliband and placed on the statute books by his bloody useless brother Ed; this single Act of industrial suicide will end up, if it is not repealed by a Tory government with at least one brain cell working; costing us our entire Industrial base, as well as costing us some £18 billion every year until 2030.

The question surely should be, to what end? Climate Change is a lie, a farce, and an illusion. The climate may well be changing, but Man, along with the dreaded Carbon Dioxide, has nothing to do with it. The (alleged) science has been rubbished, the methods, the algorhythms and the computer projections have been comprehensively rebutted; but still no-one dares to state that the ‘effing emperor not only has no clothes on, he never owned any in the first place!

For a prime example of the true stupidity of Government, they are pushing for ‘District heat networks, with local councils (!!!!!) utilising ‘waste to heat’ stations which consume and burn  waste rather than bung it into a big hole, and then piping the turinheatresultant steam into everyone’s house to connect to a ‘heat transfer’ boiler which would then heat the central heating pipes, and hot water. Just imagine the sheer stupidity of taking gas boilers out of every British home presently heated by gas: and planning to replace them with superheated steam-pipes laden with steam at 200 C. lying in trenches dug by a British labour force in villages, towns and cities all across the United Kingdom? Has anyone ever stood back and actually looked at the sheer stupidity of a project, which would need the conversion of 20,000 homes every week, and every week for the next twenty years? As a bonus, just remember that all these ‘Waste-to-Heat’ stations which are so blithely discussed are going to be pumping excess CARBON ‘EFFING DIOXIDE into the atmosphere all that time as well, thus eliminating any bloody saving brought about by removing all the ‘effing gas boilers in the first place!

No wonder the Gods up on Olympus are laughing and slowly shaking their collective heads together!

Siberian towns have district heat networks. they’re a great leveller – everyone freezes together when they fail (as happens often).
The slow but inexorable march to a Stalinist centrally-controlled “society” continues.

Don’t forget the ‘Smart Cities’ with their ‘smart meters’, the aim being to operate with minimum capacity, by operating on the peak of the efficiency curve.

The slightest ‘nudge’, or system breakdown and the lot will collapse catastrophically.

    Listen mate, if it’s green it’s good…..

and who said anything about preserving humanity?

None of this green shit is thought through and Shariza May notwithstanding her berserker like bonkers devotion to the diversity feminazis to boot: she is a green lunatic.

Industrial suicide, that’s a piece of piss compared to what comes after that.

I have said, thanks to a political class who are either thick, twisted or both it is going to end in a gnashing of teeth. Indeed, the end of days draws nigh for the UK.

Thanks to, in line from Wilson and Heath, through to Thatcher, Bliar, Broon, CaMORON, the damage wrought is so great. I believe it to be a race to bring about the end. Set, between two lumps of extremists bent on destruction but with no idea of what to put in its place. These lunatics, who wish to fashion these islands into some sort of agrarian serfdom. Aye, between the nutters pushing the green agenda and the death cultists, the future looks decidedly fucking bleak verging nuclear winter catastrophic.

      Nail head hit square on.

How the hell did they manage to cajole frighten brainwash bamboozle threaten browbeat bribe enough of the electorate to think any one of these people had the interests of them, the British people, or the future of our country, at heart.

Increasingly when i hear people bemoaning things that have happened i politely ask them if they ever considered what would happen if turkey’s voted for Christmas, mostly they bluster utter bollocks because they can’t take it in that they’ve willingly voted, time after time, for their own Dec 25th.

Aside from that, what a refreshing picture, that could have been a Brit street in the 70’s before the country disappeared up its own arse.

In Britain there would have been the same two blokes actually doing some work, with difficulty mind clad in orange jump suits, hard hats, designer safety sunglasses, and having to work around miles of bloody cones and safety fencing, and under the watchful eyes of umpteen bloody H&S bods, plus assorted gaffers of varying levels, bods with tripods and others in spotless reflective gear who’ve never done a bloody days work in their lives and a dozen or more portakabins stacked neatly in the safe area housing dozens more doing sweet bugger all.

You’d be lucky to see two blokes working these days! They are doing up a road near me – I leave at 6:30 & return at 17:10 and I’ve seen not a soul working.

Drove that way yesterday to catch a glimpse – nothing! They don’t work weekends.

For sheer insanity, the burning of woodchips, imported from the US, in UK power stations takes some beating.

The sheer insanity of importing any source material for our vital national power-supply when there is 300 years of untapped UK coal lying underground takes some beating too.
To add insult to insanity, we won’t use our own coal but we will happily let the perfidious French and untrustworthy Chinese hold us to ransom over an obsolete and defective nuclear generation design – an approach which doesn’t fit under the heading ‘strategic’ in my book.

Why o why insult the French and Chinese?, perfidious, untrustworthy? our politicians take some beating, Camerons World War 3, want to know the truth about global warming? read about Noah and his Ark, he was threatened with Brexit as well

I have district heating in my house (Espoo, Finland). It works great. I would never want to mess up with my own boiler and gas lines that leak and blow up. I’ve had this system now 12 years and I’ve had two outages < 4 hours which I did not even notice until they sent a "sorry" letter afterwards.

Other than that, I agree that the UK climate change act may be crap. But seriously, shut up about plumbing, the UK is medieval about it.

When the conversation turns, as it sometimes does, to ‘man made’ climate change or global warning, I just ask what ended the last ice age?

    • September 4, 2016 at 7:33 am

And when are we getting the next one that all the scientists were convinced was coming in the 70s..?

I want all Greens to spend 24 hours outside, bereft of the proceeds of energy. That means, for a start, no water. No clothes, no heat, no light, no shelter, no food, no toilet, let alone no toilet paper. No tools, just starkers, outside in the cold. For 24 hours.

If that doesn’t change their minds over the stupidity of their cause, nothing will.

    • September 1, 2016 at 10:34 am

Errol, your kindness and reasonableness is showing, but you hold back on your charitableness and generosity. 24 hours? A doddle. They need a week.

It amuses me the way that all the conveniences of the modern world are completely taken for granted by green types. The anti fossil fuel brigade seem to have not the slightest inclination about what their lives would be like without it.
