It is a truth…..

that sometimes; things do go better with Coke

Except, of course, when they definitely don’t!

Writing from a purely personal point of view, I would question whether any drug charges are correct? My view is that, mainly because of the murderous damage done both to the addicts and their families, I would argue that as a minimum, a charge of plotting murder of persons unknown be a standard for this crime. True, the get-rich-very-quick clowns who get caught deserve everything hurled at them, but few, if any, of the movers ever see a courtroom, never mind a prison cell!

I believe most of the issues with drugs are because it is illegal. Made legal it can be monitored and subject to legislation just like the drink and cigarette industry. If we are banning things because some idiots don’t know how to moderate themselves then we can say goodbye to almost everything on the planet.

Not only would de-criminalisation enable regulation and monitoring, the effect on the Police, Justice and Prison systems would be staggering.

When so much of the ‘crime’ processed by those units relates solely to the illegality of certain nominated substances, then removing that workload in its entirety would enable those expensive agencies to focus on more worthwhile tasks at substantial savings to the public purse.

I concur, people must be taught responsibility for their own actions, choices and desires – that, bad outcomes, poor choices, ill fortune: they are nobodies fault but of their own making.

      Prohibition? Whose kidding who?

If, the government were to legalize proscribed drugs, they would also have to quantify, and qualify them for legal distribution – you cannot have recreational drugs legalized, without being fully licenced under and via government statute.
Furthermore, have licenced premises where people can indulge in their addiction, safely unhindered and not bothering the clean public – make them legal and remove one of the major causes of and reasons for, a vast and persistent low level criminality.

We don’t live in a perfect world, people will always seek chemical ways to achieve a ‘buzz’.

Here, in Britain we have the worst of all worlds.

A paradoxical lip service to puritanical government pretending narcotic prohibition but in the same moment and at total variance to the government’s ‘policy, the law and its enforcers constantly are, turning a blind eye to users, pushers and drug king pins! ……. Plus a culture where money talks…..provides endless immunity and celebrity users, crikey take a trip up to Camden, they are advertising, signed shops selling the bloody gear.

Legalize it, thus defund the criminal drugs industry and diminish [not cease – that’s an impossibility]…. a bad situation, bring some salve to alleviate the appalling misery of drug addiction.
