The sheer organizational power of the left

From a conference:

I just wanted to share a few observations about the left as we go into this distinguished panel, and something that I’ve written many times that has kind of become a slogan is the left never stops, they never sleep, they never quit. If you think you’ve beaten them, you haven’t. Our problem is we go home after we win and they scuttle right back in and start undermining the foundations of society.

So the country, as Mr. Farage said at lunch so eloquently, has been like all of the Western democracies, essentially hijacked by a group of people who like to think of themselves as elite, but in fact, they’re not.

One thing that we do have in common with the European elites is that our politicians all go to the same schools. They live in the same neighborhoods in New York City and Washington. They have country houses in the same parts of Connecticut and Long Island. They marry each other. They have affairs with each other on the road. They are just all one big happy family and we are not part of that family.

[S]o when you wonder about the origins of media bias it’s almost a tribal thing.

I’ve been looking at the steps again of how the Club of Rome globalist EU managed to come out of a loose association of economic cooperation and how the people s of Europe bought the undemocratic rule by the Commission of communists, particularly given the horror of the USSR right on their doorsteps.

And the answer of course is subterfuge – presenting something to the public in such a way any decent person would support it, without being told the down side.

Yes, we fail to combine in the way they do, it’s not slick with us, not organized. They plan the thing out, some new outrage and have already taken care of how to marginalize the predicted outrage from us.

They don’t like when I call them the satanic left. I have no idea why. I mean it so well, but satanic they are, and right now you’re witnessing them like Blake’s great red dragon whipping that tail around, flailing, trying to sting anything that they can get to take you down.

I always note that dexter means right and sinister means left.

As Mr. Farage said, we’re fighting for Western civilization, we’re fighting for Western values, we’re fighting for the Western nation state, and these are things worth defending because they have brought with them all of the technological, moral, and civilizational progress, certainly 90 percent of it that the world has ever experienced, and it came out of the exact conditions that the left is now trying to destroy.

And yet the left says he is a fascist who wants to destroy society. The way they just jump onto labels with not the slightest thought – the sheep do, the instigators have it all sussed out and organized from Chatham House or similar.

I introduced one of my students to Shelby Steele, a black conservative author who insists that African Americans will do best without welfare and through self-reliance. This student said, “My God, Shelby Steele is exactly right.” One of my students approached me spontaneously with no prompting from me and said I wish my professors would encourage us to feel part of America, to feel proud to be American, to feel part of something bigger than ourselves. I wish it were cool to be patriotic.

And of course – Thomas Sowell.

When you look at this next part and compare that to Senator William Jenner’s 1954 speech, which I’ll follow this with, then one sees the full horror.

The new leviathan is a network of billion dollar tax exempt foundations and advocacy think tanks that work in concert with government unions and grassroots radical groups to make up the organizational core of the political left. The new leviathan is not only a political force in the narrow sense of directly influencing electoral outcomes through the support of candidates and parties.

Because its power drives from institutions whose mandates are educational and philanthropic, its influence extends into every aspect of the nation’s life. This influence is exerted through a tax exempt universe of policy think tanks, grassroots campaign organizations, public interest groups, all created and supported by its donations.

The components of the new leviathan operate within the framework of a progressive ideology that advocates an ever expanding state along with policies that undermine America’s sovereignty and weaken her defenses. The new leviathan’s ever growing power has already tipped the scales of the national political debate,” and that’s it.

Here’s the Jenner quote:

Feb. 23, 1954 – Senator William Jenner of Indiana says before the U.S. Senate: “Today the path to total dictatorship in the United States can be laid by strictly legal means, unseen and unheard by Congress, the President, or the people.

We have a well-organized political action group in this country, determined to destroy our Constitution and establish a one-party state. It has a foothold within our Government, and its own propaganda apparatus. One may call this group by many names. Some people call it socialism, some collectivism. I prefer to call it ‘democratic centralism.’

The important point to remember about this group is not its ideology but its organization. It is a dynamic, aggressive, elite corps, forcing its way through every opening, to make a breach for a collectivist one-party state. It operates secretly, silently, continuously to transform our Government without our suspecting the change is underway.

This secret revolutionary corps understands well the power to influence the people by an elegant form of brainwashing. We see this, for example, in the innocent use of words like ‘democracy’ in place of ‘representative government.’ “

You can pooh-pooh that but a glance at Jenner’s bio shows him not to have been a loon in general, he was a man of conscience, of decency, taking on the forces of the Man. And yet the grassroots left, who should have been behind a man taking on the Man, instead agreed to vilify him.

The people he was down on in Hollywood were the people Bogie and Bacall saw when they went to a trial to support the Hollywood left and then saw just how that real left behaved when forced from under the rock. Bogie in particular wanted nothing more to do with them. Yet Lucille Ball was an open Communist Party organizer and used her TV popularity to help its ends, that is, the taking down of American society. Work that one out.

It’s changed in some ways today, the landscape, in that many who would have counted themselves left, i.e. into love all, eco-friendly and so on, good people, are now seeing just how bad the left really are in the organizational upper echelons, how antithetical to society they really are, how much they hate their nation. Libertarians who also admire left icons like Marcuse, Alinsky are in a bind – you can’t be libertarian and true left. True left is for the curtailment of personal freedoms – observe PCism and bansturbation – these are of the left and from nowhere else.

And just look at their tactics. Matthew Vadum:

The left, as we know, but we sometimes need to be reminded, doesn’t fight fair. They do not respect the rules of our civilization or of our society. They fight dirty. They are criminals and gangsters and racketeers, and never, at least in my lifetime, has that been clearer than during this past election cycle.

That conference was about how to fight the left. How does one fight the sinister?

Well, the first step is to wake out of this stupor, to realize just what it is we have on our hands. We’re doing that now with the Muslim threat but it’s going to take considerably longer for Europe and America, plus the antipodes, to wake up to what half of their fellow citizens are tacitly enabling in day to day matters.

If they knew that, if they just saw the reality, then the left would collapse.

Being left-handed, I am a little sensitive about the connotation ‘sinister’. Consider also the use of ‘right’ as is correct, or ‘gauche’ as in clumsy.

We even had an instructor at our University tell a left-handed student that ‘they had no soul.’

My now-deceased brother once said exactly the same of me (You have no soul); but this was after he asked me if I had watched the Triple-Crown, or the Fumbling final, or something: and I had replied, “Nope, I was engrossed in a documentary about the African Fish Eagle.”
