Maybe You Should Ask Questions Of Your Son, Not The School…

Mum Lynne said he is trying to build his strength back up but is often five minutes late and has missed lessons – and now faces disciplinary measures as a result.

Hmmm, but don’t schools make allowances for disability?

The college told the ECHO it was unable to comment on individual cases, but stressed the support it offered to students with different needs.

So, they do. As expected. What’s the issue here, then?

“In November they agreed to put a support plan in place for Thomas and said they would take him off the automatic system which records him as absent if he’s late. They also said he would have one to one meetings.

“But last week he went to a meeting with his tutor and she asked him how things were, then said ‘Well that sounds like it’s not your health condition that’s distracting you from college, I’m going to take you off the support package’.

Well, well, well….

Seems she’d be better off talking to her son, rather than the media.

Often five minutes late? Oh no, what on Earth could possibly be done to avoid that? I’m no parent but my guess would be … go to bed 5 minutes earlier, set the alarm clock 5 minutes earlier. That sounds so simple … I’m sure it’s more complicated than that though, surely?
