Criminal climate change lunacy

Downunder, H/T Chuckles, at WUWT:

As an Australia-wide heat wave sent temperatures soaring above 105 degrees F (40.6 C) in early 2017, air conditioning demand skyrocketed. But Adelaide, South Australia is heavily dependent on wind turbines for electricity generation – and there was no wind. Regulators told the local natural gas-fired power plant to ramp up its output, but it couldn’t get enough gas to do so. To avoid a massive, widespread blackout, regulators shut off power to 90,000 homes, leaving angry families sweltering in the dark.

According to the Journal, Aussie politicians and the wind industry, the primary problem was businesses that exported 62% of Australia’s natural gas production in 2016, leaving insufficient supplies to run gas backup power plants that are supposed to step in when wind and solar power fail. Policy makers “didn’t ensure enough gas would remain at home” and couldn’t foresee temperatures soaring with no wind.

Different topic, same scenario in California with the water situation. and the idiots pushing these things get awards:

Climate modeler Matthew England still ignoring reality – claims IPCC models will eventually win

… and:

The prestigious Tinker-Muse Prize for Science and Policy in Antarctica for 2017 has been awarded to (University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) scientist Professor Matthew England in recognition of his outstanding research, leadership and advocacy for Antarctic science.

The case rests.

The IPCC models can never ‘win’ because they’re base don invention. It’s as likely saying that Sauron will return.

Is summer getting hotter? Yes, likely it is. Why? Because that’s what weather does. It’s cyclical. Shutting off power to homes simply to appease the crazed Left is the stuff of chaos though. Rolling blackouts cripple the economy and stop our entire society form functioning.

Next it’ll be water supplies. What will the Left do when millions of people are dying from thirst because of their arrogance? Probably change the name of the proven false ‘climate change’ again.

Same in the UK in reverse. It tends to be colder in winter when we get a high pressure system with clear skies and no wind.
If you meet anyone who thinks wind turbines are reliable, ask them if they’ve removed their car’s engine and fitted a sail.

I haven’t seen any mention of South Australia’s power grid crashes in the MSM. You would think that the BBC at least would have thought it was worth reporting.

That’s what is known as the ‘wrong sort of news’!

Does anyone remember the ‘Ship of Fools’ incident of Xmas 2013? A bunch of climate change alarmists took a ship to Antarctica to observe first hand how all the ice was melting and got their ship stuck in the ice. The ship was loaded up with BBC and Guardian reporters in order to make sure that detailed reports of how warm it was and how the ice was disappearing at an alarming rate. As it turned out there was nothing at all to report.
