If we go on about something, some people not in our political corner point to obsession on our part and start flinging derogatory epithets, rather than see it for what it is – that there is so much of it going on today that it tends to dominate.
A perfect example is Trump. I’m not obsessed by him but he does tend to dominate and a pundit must therefore cover it.
Young males have coined a term for a particularly obnoxious type of female increasingly common today. The term is “thot” which, according to the Urban Dictionary, is an acronym for “that hoe over there.” That’s probably true, as most kids communicate via text message these days … Additionally, the term means a girl who is a slut, but carries on as if she is special.
There is a second aspect though:
[Thot] is useful shorthand for the type of young woman that has become too common in our mass media. This is the girl who would have been standing next to a Ford at the auto show in another era, but is now put on television as a serious commentator or journalist. They get the job because of their looks, but somehow they think they are public intellectuals … Katherine Timpf is a good example of the phenomenon.
From the photos on line and her video clips, it appears she figured out that she could work the naughty librarian look into a paying gig in conservative media. Her bio says she is a libertarian, but exactly no one gives a damn about her political views. She’s on TV because she is easy on the eyes and willing to play the sex kitten on these chat shows. That’s how it works.
Today, young women like Katherine Timpf are walking around thinking they are where they are because they are important thinkers.
The girl pictured at the top of the page is there, not because of the sexual proclivity side – who knows what she does – but for the second aspect.
The estimable Tim Newman, in comments on the Z Man article, mentioned Lauren Southern. There are others over there such as Katie Pavlich and Tomi Lahren and they do ignorantly mouth off at times and believe they are major players on the world stage.
I watched a Lauren Southern clip from The Rebel and she was talking to male Muslims. She mentioned Shariah Law and they went on the verbal offensive, lecturing her on what it means in Islam.
I had to switch it off because the ignorant girl knew nothing, she’d been mouthing narrative. She’d read what pundits on our side have posted over time, had heard these words and so employed them. There are ten thousand pundits who could have taken that right up to those jihadis but she just remained browbeaten, then tried to counter with key words in lieu of facts in the same way the SJWs do.
I don’t know if Lauren Southern would fall into this category, but when I briefly followed her on Twitter I got the impression most of her fans like her because she’s cute, and if she wasn’t she’d be subject to a lot more scrutiny.
I stopped following her when she came to Paris, where I live, and tweeted some rubbish about how it was on fire and she hadn’t seen a European in the whole city. I was walking around the city that day and it was bright sunshine and all the French were out with their kids in the parks. She’d been to a small protest at Bastille and used it to tweet BS.
This is the issue. So many of us have done what we would like to think is some serious work on these bstds the jihadis, along comes a Lauren Southern and shows ignorance and as it is bereft of facts … then unfounded prejudice.
In reality it is wellfounded but in her head … no. And that makes me most annoyed.
There was a reply to Tim:
As much as it pains me to say it, yes. It applies to Lauren Southern.
Why does it pain me? Because I like Lauren Southern: she’s bright and courageous, and she’s openly supportive of identitarian movements. Southern doesn’t openly support the alt-right, but unlike most conservathots, she studiously avoids countersignalling us as well.
But face it: Lauren Southern wouldn’t even be on the radar if she wasn’t a (dyed) blonde hottie who wears lots of sleeveless tops. And I’m sure she knows it as well. I think she’s sincere in her gradual rightward trajectory, but there’s no denying it’s an under-served niche, what with all the Kat Timpfs and Tomi Lahrens cluttering up the mainstream rightosphere.
The Z Man concluded:
There are some women who do a fine job. Ann Coulter has never shied away from the fact she used her looks to get an edge. I don’t have an issue with it. I just lose all patience for bubble headed bimbos carrying on like they’re deep thinkers.
“As much as it pains me to say it” wrote the commenter above. The reason it pains us is that these gals are on our side of politics, they’re Deplorables, they’ve signed on to our side so to speak and we should be encouraging them.
However … however … however, if you don’t know your stuff love, then do shut up, as you damage progress if you open your pretty mouth.
Which brings me to the point – whoever thought that a 22 year old college student is wise or cunning enough in the ways of the world to lecture or be spokesperson for an entire political side is doing great wrong.
So let’s look at Lauren Southern. Who put her behind a mic and unleashed her on the online community? Ezra did. He saw a “young conservative”, pretty, presentable and in a shot at my fellow men here, he thought it a great move to put the filly into a position of maximum reach, without checking what she knew.
J’accuse men of our kind and the way a pretty girl can soften our brains. It does her no good when people see she’s an airhead, it does the political points no good when the jihadis can just make mincemeat of her and it gives the left ammunition.
Ezra knows his stuff, he’s been there, so for goodness sake let him do the talking. Let her do hers on her blog or wherever.
Two young women lecture the old on “leadership”:
