What a week in Trumpworld

All sorts of things have been happening in Trumpworld lately.

Most important of these is the fallout from Harvey, which you can read more about in great detail, including the comments.

That post opens with statements from Houston’s mayor Sylvester Turner, a Democrat, who told citizens not to evacuate when the weather was good last week.

Meanwhile, Texas governor Greg Abbott — a Republican — who once lived in Houston, said that it would be a very good idea to leave town while the going was good.

I checked Sylvester Turner’s Twitter feed the other day. It is full of praise for him. Not one word of criticism.

Meanwhile, the city is woefully underwater and will be for some time. There is no place for H2O to go.

Radio show host Hal Turner explains, recapping a US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) press briefing from Monday, August 28, 2017 (emphases mine):

Aerial views of Houston reservoirs and all surrounding areas are very bad. The reservoirs are over-topping and will continue to over-top in areas above and below the reservoirs …

USACE says this area now a “flood pool” because nothing’s draining. There is nowhere for the water to go because the ground is totally saturated and all streams, rivers and ponds where normal storm drainage would take place, are all full.

Even worse, lakes are also backing up into the area and flowing over their banks. At least 48 hours before any drainage will start to occur because culverts are washing — out roads are washing out.

Also (emphases in the original):

The amount of rainfall is well past all engineering and flooding forecast models.  No developed society has ever dealt with this much rainfall — in such a short time — in all of recorded history.

The only option remaining is for everyone who has not evacuated, to BE EVACUATED.  The entire city and much of its surrounding area should be EVACUATED.

Trouble is, all the roads for evacuation are flooded closed.

The National Weather Service is saying they “have no idea what is going to happen now because what has taken place is unprecedented; everything from this point on is an unknown.”

And, Turner’s article states that — regardless of what other people are saying — the level of water has exceeded 50 inches in Cedar Bayou, Texas, which recorded a level of 51.88 inches from Harveya new record for the contiguous 48 states.

The death toll from Harvey is likely to be staggering.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania went to visit Corpus Christi — on the edge of Hurricane Harvey — and the state capital Austin on Tuesday, August 29. They met with various politicians, officials and first responders, including the staff at the Emergency Operations Center in Austin. They are likely to make another trip to Texas soon, possibly on Saturday.

Meanwhile, CNN reporter Rosa Flores got an earful from a black mother at a Houston shelter with her children. The video has gone viral. The Daily Mail has an account, excerpted below:

As Danielle told her story, she clearly became more upset, looking around the shelter, hugging her children and even crying.

Meanwhile Flores touched Danielle’s arm and continued to ask her a question about saving her children from the floods, which further upset the distressed mother.

‘We walked through four feet of water to go get them food on the first day. Yeah, that’s a lot of s***,’ Danielle said, before she turned on Flores.

‘But y’all sitting here, y’all trying to interview people during their worst times. That’s not the smartest thing to do.

‘Like people are really breaking down and y’all sitting here with cameras and microphones trying to ask us what the f*** is wrong with us.’

By contrast, I have read anecdotally that Fox reporters in Houston have actually helped to rescue families and get them to safety.

I think the CNN woman wanted to get Danielle to say something negative about Donald Trump — which never happened. Instead she got a verbal smackdown. Too funny.

In other news, incredibly, the FBI has said that Hillary Clinton’s emails are not of public interest. On August 29, Fox News reported:

The FBI is declining to turn over files related to its investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails by arguing a lack of public interest in the matter.

Ty Clevenger, an attorney in New York City, filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in March of 2016 asking for a variety of documents from the FBI and the Justice Department, including correspondence exchanged with Congress about the Clinton email investigation.

But in a letter sent this week and obtained by Fox News, the head of the FBI’s Records Management Division told Clevenger that the bureau has “determined you have not sufficiently demonstrated that the public’s interest in disclosure outweighs personal privacy interests of the subject.”

“Therefore, records regarding your subject are withheld pursuant to FOIA exemptions,” David M. Hardy of the FBI’s Records Management Division told Clevenger.

Clevenger wants to demonstrate that Hillary committed perjury. There is a petition currently circulating to have the emails released, but it’s doubtful that will happen, regardless of the number of signatures.

In other nefarious Democrat dealings, the Daily Caller has found out that Imran Awan, former IT aide to Democrat congresspersons, still has an active secret email account on the House of Representatives computer system:

He and two of his Pakistani-born brothers, as well as his wife, are at the center of an FBI investigation over their IT work with dozens of Democratic congressional offices. Authorities shut down Awan’s standard email account Feb. 2, and he was arrested by the FBI at Dulles International Airport trying to board a flight to his native Pakistan on July 25.

Authorities apparently did not realize Awan has a second account that is not linked to his identity. While his main email address began rejecting mail after it was shut down, the 123 address was still accepting mail Tuesday.

Mail sent via Gmail fills in the name of the account-holder of 123 as Nathan Bennett, whose LinkedIn profile says his individual legislative portfolio covers “national security and foreign affairs” and includes work on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

The member Bennett works for, Carson, is a member of both the House Intelligence and House Homeland Security Committees, and previously employed Awan.

Carson is ranking member of the House intelligence subcommittee on emerging threats, which oversees the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The subcommittee oversight extends to the National Counterterrorism Center and information-sharing programs.

Amazing. Who knows what has been leaked to other nations, particularly Pakistan.

The Daily Caller article has more, including information about his two wives — still current — and an interview with one of his former tenants who received emails from him on the 123 address.

This story receives next to no media coverage, by the way, no doubt because it involves prominent Democrats, including one Deborah Wasserman Schultz.

Fallout from the false flag of Charlottesville continues. A number of videos are out showing that it was a set-up. These are but three: here, here and here. I haven’t watched any of them in full. However, I have skimmed through them and they will be of interest to those who would like more information about the event.

Regarding Charlottesville, the New York Times has had to issue five corrections. They misquoted Trump each time. But, who will see the corrections? No one.

There was another violent Antifa confrontation on Sunday, August 27, this time in Berkeley. It was supposed to be a peaceful gathering of the Patriot Prayer Group, led by Joey Gibson, of mixed race. The Gateway Pundit reported that Antifa attacked Gibson, who was:

chased, beaten, pushed, punched and beaten by the far left mob.

That includes being pepper-sprayed and having bottles of urine thrown at him.

When Gibson finally found the police, they arrested him. Incredible.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Antifa arrests were also made. Names and home towns are included at the link.

The Gateway Pundit article states:

The Conservative media closest to the grassroots have been covering the violent acts of Antifa for months. After this weekend at Berkeley, even the likes of MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough can no longer ignore how violent Antifa is towards Trump supporters, mainstream media reporters and police.

Yet, that did not stop GOPe men from defending Antifa. Ann Coulter tweeted:

Black man chased, pepper-sprayed & attacked by masked whites. , & side with the white mob.

This is what Ryan posted on his Facebook page shortly after Charlottesville:

There are no sides. There is no other argument. We will not tolerate this hateful ideology in our society.

He was talking about the rent-a-mob on the Right, not the Left, because a female veteran later wrote Ryan a page-long letter, of which the Gateway Pundit has a photo. It reads in part:

“After all the times you’ve seen Antifa attack people who were peacefully demonstrating, how can you call them anything but what they are – domestic terrorists?” asked the vet.

“This weekend in Berkeley is a classic example of the MANY times Antifa has attacked conservatives. Why do you legitimize domestic terrorism by not calling it what it is?” the letter continues.

Even Nancy Pelosi (D-California) can see Antifa are dangerous. You can read her statement here. It says, in part:

The violent actions of people calling themselves antifa in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation, and the perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted.

In closing, Kathy Griffin, comedienne and occasional CNN comic contributor, has retracted her apology over the May 2017 video of her holding an effigy of Donald Trump’s head. So tasteless. Even Chelsea Clinton objected. People reported:

Following the immediate backlash, she apologized, a move she now regrets.

“I am no longer sorry, the whole outrage was B.S., the whole thing got so blown out of proportion,” she shared on the Australian talk show Sunrise this week. “I lost everybody.

Things then turned a bit contentious when Griffin mentioned the criticism she faced from people like Chelsea Clinton and Debra Messing

“You’re full of crap,” fired back Griffin. “Stop acting like my little picture is more important than talking about the actual atrocities that the president of the United States is committing.”

More news anon.

There’s the nature of nature and the topographical nature of the area – of course they have a huge impact but there is also this sort of thing:

Someone promoted way above her ability level and trying to do it her own way. then there is the sheer incompetent couldn’t care less about the commons.

We had the same thing over here with the Somerset Levels:

“Amazing. Who knows what has been leaked to other nations, particularly Pakistan.”

And from passed on to God knows who or where, via Pakistani military intelligence.

Exactly. No one seems to care. I hope AG Sessions is quietly on the case.

How do you drain four feet of water over an area the size of Houston? What the heck can they do?

All they can do now is wait.

Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) saw that Nancy Pelosi condemned Antifa, so now he has followed suit:

‘In a statement provided to The Daily Caller, Ryan’s spokeswoman AshLee Strong said: “Speaker Ryan believes, as is obvious, these individuals are left-wing thugs, and those who are committing violence need to be arrested and prosecuted. Antifa is a scourge on our country.”’

However, his office did not issue an official statement on social media, like Pelosi’s did:

‘Even now, Ryan has yet to offer a personal condemnation of the group. Strong, Ryan’s spokeswoman, has not responded when asked by Breitbart News why Ryan himself has still said nothing about Antifa.’
