Isn’t Thanksgiving a reminder of the time the starving settlers were rescued by the indigenous natives giving them food and showing where more food can be obtained and in return the indigenous natives were raped, murdered or exposed to diseases they had no natural defences to? Or was that another American holiday?

And the natives are giving thanks for that.

Well that pattern of behaviour by the settlers is certainly being followed and expanded upon by our latter-day “settlers”, isn’t it?

Be fair. Those particular Indians needed to Puritans’ help against another tribe, as they had been decimated by smallpox. It took the settlers a couple of generations before they went after that tribe, as I recall.

Thanksgiving is, a time to be grateful traditionally for ‘harvest home’, good health, to remember friends and family past and present and to give thanks that you were born in the land of the free, and a special celebration this year.

    For DJT.

    Happy Thanksgiving to y’ all.

    Thanks, James — much appreciated!

Had a fine Thanksgiving with many leftovers, especially turkey (Kelly bronze).
