Appeaser Theresa

You know, I’m coming around to the idea that anyone within the M25 should not have the vote … or at least anyone at Westminster and environs.

“Get DUP onside” – think about that one for a moment.

“Get DUP onside.”

What planet do these people live on? These are MPs and the men behind them in their clubs or at Chatham House who think the DUP will compromise a key policy of being either in or out of the EU, the whole reason they agreed to back the govt in the first place.

But in the suits’ world, they’re actually so morally bankrupt that they think anything at all is negotiable if the price is right. Anything.

Not the slightest concept that Northern Ireland is clinging on for life over there, with bloody Ireland down south ready to storm in with the EU billions we’re paying.

Just what do these bozos think the rest of us in the country are thinking? That these clowns are so clever? That we admire their ‘negotiating skills’? They have no concept of our ire and they really, really need to understand that simple principle.

There is one essential difference between the British and Americans which has meant we have the govt we do and they have the President they do – that they are prepared to get off their backsides and storm the media with ire. They even have a principle of recall of officials over there.

And us? We grumble. That’s it. On this blog, right now, Tuesday morning, I’m grumbling. And that’s that. That’s an end on’t. The Dear Lord Jesus wept. And I bet that every one of those pollies is re-elected in 2022.

“Get the DUP onside.”

What is the entire circus for anyway? How many times has May been told, how many, if only by JRM – walk away, go! And even he has this 2019 date in his skull. No, no, no, no – we go now! Now! As at this moment, as at before New Year, 2016, and we pay not one penny. But the smug cow smiles and ignores that as ‘not practical’.

The whole country [74% in the last poll anyway] is crying out that she stand up to the bullies, develop some sort of spine. The DUP are completely within their rights to expect that May will honour her slithering serpent promises.

Look at this one:

Ten days to save Brexit

Wot, if May can’t get something decided in ten days, Brexit ends? Second referendum? What substances are these people on?

Neither NI nor the Republic are worth a light – one is a continuing burden since 1922, the other is an irrelevant tin-pot mini-state whose population can’t wait to emigrate anywhere else, as has always been the case. They’re not worth arguing about – let them sink or swim.

The only permissible further referendum would be one ‘whole of Ireland’ vote in which both the Republic and NI are given a simple choice in a shared vote – do you want to be part of the UK or a member of the EU?

If they decide the former, then the whole of Ireland would become a devolved province of the UK, all outside the EU – border problem solved.
If they decide the latter, NI leaves the UK and merges with the Republic as a single EU member state, border problem solved (and UK budget much improved in perpetuity).

James, I agree that all we do is grumble, unlike our friends in the USA. But when contacting your MP, or attending protests has absolutely no effect on our elected servants, I at least am at a loss as how to get them to do what we’ve repeatedly told them to do.
They as a whole ignore us, the normal citizens yet accommodate much of what the shouty left clamour for. Things won’t change until they change and that will only come about when a true leader, a patriot and defender of the indigenous population, emerges. We might not like to admit it but most people are followers not leaders, so until our St George comes along we’ll probably just keep on grumbling because it’s all we have.

iirc Cameron promised a recall law in 2010. Bill was watered down to be almost meaningless and MPs voted against it anyway.

TBH a military coup in UK, as mooted in Blair/Brown nightmare years, may be beneficial today.

Perhaps a Zimbabwe-style ‘non-coup’, installing Nigel as Prime Minister, JRM as Chancellor, Boris as Home Secretary and Gove at the FO – a clear-out of all the closet Remainers and EU sleeper-agents.

        Excellent solution.
