Saturday politics

1. What an absolutely moronic headline:

Brexit REVEALED: Theresa May handed a lifeline in ‘£80bn’ Brexit victory

How is paying £80bn after £37bn in any way, shape or form a “lifeline” or a “victory”?  It’s not that they themselves are morons, it’s that they take us for morons.

2. Soy Boy in deep do-dos:

3. Ha ha:

The IRA does though.

4. The bstds are going down:

5. Last but not least, I do like Arron – he’s a very naughty boy, but sane:

Corporation tax is daft. It basically says ‘we want to take money from businesses. Businesses that already pay tax to employ people (and get them off welfare). The council then taxes them for existing, despite those businesses bringing spending into the area and creating council tax payers. It’s as if the state sees workers as a cow to be milked to death and then complains that it cannot drink any more milk.

It’s utterly, flipping, gormlessly stupid. Do not create another tax. Get rid of the ones we have. Leave Us Alone!

Well, because that is not what is said:

It follows work by Economists for Free Trade which showed that the Treasury would collect £80 billion a year based on the revenue created by moving on to the World Trade Deal on WTO rules.

If this were to happen the UK would also keep its £39 billion which had been earmarked as a divorce bill to paid to the EU.
