I like maths and so on.
If you don’t understand basic maths you don’t understand economics.
In other words, not understanding maths is a basic underpinning of Home-Owner-Ism. It only makes sense if you abandon maths and logic.
Not understanding maths is the basis of someone wanting to own a home? Is that what you really mean?
God help us all. We are finished.
The university that I retired from has just begun phasing out mathematics and physics degrees, ‘in the interest of efficiency’.
On the bright side, they have just started a program in ESports (promoting professional video gaming).
If maths and physics degrees become in short supply, won’t that make them more valuable?
Regarding home owning. The interest that I have paid on the mortgage is huge. However, I have to balance that cost against the alternatives. I could pay nearly as much in rent for the rest of my life. I could live in a shop doorway. I decided to buy a house and now I don’t pay rent or live in a shop doorway. Am I missing something?
The film was entertaining. I started out thinking that it was attacking a straw man as nobody really thinks like that, not really. After a while I started thinking that it isn’t that far from the truth sadly.
