Current state of play

Sarah Sanders: Statement from President @realDonaldTrump:

“I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file. As the Senate has requested, this update must be limited in scope and completed in less than one week.”

UPDATE:

# Stonewall Jackson: “Bit confusing. Flake voted yes, but wants a week for the FBI to investigate before he’s a “YES” on the full Senate vote. We can afford to lose him if the others are all still a YES. If not, we would have to delay this a week … either way Kavanaugh will still be confirmed.”

# The vote passed, but they want to delay full Senate vote for another week for the FBI to get involved!

# That was Grassley being totally brilliant. Flake just tried to hijack the entire process and demand another week. Grassley cut him off with the vote to send it to the floor. Now – the nomination goes to the floor of the Senate approved 11-10.

UPDATE:

It appears key Dems have walked out of the vote and are complaining to their media in the corridor.

Vote is at 18:30, UK time.

UPDATE from RT:

The Senate Judiciary Committee is preparing to vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, just one day after the judge provided an emotional testimony to members of Congress, denying allegations of sexual misconduct.

If the committee approves the nomination, it will then go to the full Senate.

However, no matter how the vote goes, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has the power to bring Kavanaugh’s nomination to a floor vote.

A full Senate confirmation vote could take place early next week.

What it comes down to, now Flake has said he’ll confirm, is two pro-baby murder RINO women, Collins and Murkowski who should never have been selected.

They are the moles inside the RINOs.  This is Murkowski:

“We are now in a place where it’s not about whether or not Judge Kavanaugh is qualified,” Murkowski told the New York Times on Monday night. “It is about whether or not a woman who has been a victim at some point in her life is to be believed.”

It’s nothing of the kind but that’s what the future of the US, let alone the GOP agenda they were elected to pursue, has now come down to – abortion and Me Too.

Earlier post

It’s 8.42 a.m. over there right now.

Let’s open with this:

Why are the dems so afraid of Kavanaugh’s appointment to the Supreme Court? Abortion? Partly, but the real reason, courtesy of #Qanon: the deep state hacks are terrified of facing military tribunals; Kavanaugh will be the court tie breaker allowing the tribunals to go forward.

Town Hall reports that the three standing undecided have now agreed to confirm, so it will be interesting today. 51 Rep 49 Dem are the current numbers.

Now Jim Rickards is not so much political, he’s an economist, so this is interesting:

Question is why Lindsey Graham, a former pure McCainite, has suddenly gone this way?

Tour de force yesterday, has galvanized middle America but far more is fear. Should the Dems take the midterms and remember this:

… then it will be well nigh impossible for the GOP to win in 2020 with Trump, all the illegals too swarming in for the other side, and he is the GOP [and US] meal ticket. The GOP strategy is clearly to keep the Donald at a distance, while reaping the benefit of his base, giving them enough to stay onboard.

Yes, it’s all theatre but I can’t help feeling the Dems have blundered here. I’m not sure even failure to confirm would change this momentum.

That obviously has implications for us. There’s a post maybe tomorrow morning on our developments here but most of you already know those.

I’ve never understood why politicians think they have the remotest right to interfere in our lives so heavily. Abortion is up to the individual, ot state legislation. All the Metoo – prostititutes.

Sorry, I know it’s unwelcome but the simple truth is if you sell your body for a good or service then you are a prostitute. Putting out then complaining 30 years later when you’re nice and safe doesn’t change the truth.

What it does do is demean every victim of abuse. It’s selfish, petulant, egocentric and crass.

I haven’t yet seen or heard anyone point out, to Sen. Flake or that woman in the lift, that any assault she suffered has no relevance at all to the allegations against Judge Kavanaugh.

Either Dr. Blasey Ford’s allegations about Judge Kavanaugh are true or they are false.

The guilty should be punished, the innocent should not be punished.

That other men have assaulted other women in the past is not in doubt. And has no bearing on this case at all.

There are so many inconsistencies in Dr. Blasey Ford’s actions and allegations re. this assault that, in my opinion, she is not credible as a witness.

That’s me trying to be polite. Less politely – I don’t believe her because I think she is lying. I think she is probably lying for political reasons. I am certain that there are many who claim to believe that she is credible who are doing so purely for political reasons.

Republican Senator Jeff Flake aptly named. Flake by name, Flakey by nature.

He looks like a Dem Kennedy Clone
