Letter to a Conservative MP

Reader James Strong writes:

I think Theresa May is betraying our country. I would like to see her removed from office as soon as possible.

On November 7th I wrote to my MP, a Conservative:

There are reports in the media that Mr. Gove is pressing for the Cabinet to see the full legal advice about the Irish ‘backstop’.

It is shocking and frightening that the Cabinet should be refused this advice. How can they make a decision, how can they fully accept collective responsibility, if they are only given a summary as has been suggested?

This is looking like government by Prime Ministerial diktat rather than Cabinet government. That is not what I was taught is the UK system in my A Level politics course.

As you know, I think the Conservative MPs should remove Mrs. May from office.

From where I stand it looks as if she is ignoring Cabinet government when it suits her. It’s only a few months ago that she was running a separate Brexit policy without keeping Mr. Davis fully informed. And remember that she went to see Mrs. Merkel before the now famous Chequers meeting of the Cabinet. And now she is slow to release legal advice to the Cabinet.

How much more like this are you and your colleagues willing to take?

If, on a political level, you think she is an asset then I would ask you all to remind yourselves of the 2017 General Election campaign when so many candidates were ‘standing with Theresa May’. That campaign was not a success.

Mrs. May should be removed from office, and if you don’t do it, be sure that the voters will remove her, the Conservative government and scores of Conservative MPs.

We used to have a “Guestposter” author category but not now, as it was a portal for bad little botties. Therefore this post had to be under my author name.

Writing to an MP who has absolutely no interest in you except when youcan remove him from his job is pointless.

I’m sorry, but this is a waste of time. As is long, expensive protests. The solution is to collapse their entire support network. Why bother voting Conservative if they won’t support Conservative values?

What was the point of electing Theresa May to implement the referendum result if she is going to do everything she can to keep us chained to the EU without article 50 to get us out again, leaving us in a worst position?

Why bother voting for these Lefty, big state, interfereing, arrogant, invasive anti market, vote grubbing, high tax socialists? A Corbyn government will destroy the UK, no question of that but maybe that’s what these idiot Lefties need to realise they are wrong in everything they say and do?

The danger, of course, is that a Conservative collapse to say 35% voting population will usher in the cretinous Corbyn and communist McDonnell, dragging us to the IMF which, simply because it has been designed to be wedded to the EU we are dragged back into the leviathan’s jaws and crushed completely.

All the hope, opportunity and vision has been obliterated. There’s no point voting. Hell, the damned Tories haven’t even pushed through boundary reform!
