She Never Misses Out On Meals, Though…

A mum has hit out at her son’s primary after being hit with a fine of up to Ā£240 – as she claims he only missed half a day of school.

The accompanying picture tells a familiar story…

Sabrina and husband Jonathon – who are both disabled – later received fines, dished out for taking Kai on holiday in term time.

Both disabled, eh?

Kai also missed the afternoon session on the first day of term on September 4, as he had a hospital appointment to have splints fitted to his legs.

While Sabrina – a former Redcar and Cleveland councillor and school governor – accepted this appointment was after school finished at 4pm, she said she and her husband’s disabilities meant extra time was needed to get Kai, who has special educational needs, to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

And the child as well?

However, the school has made it clear it does everything it can to support parents and pupils to attend school – and said a fine wouldn’t have been issued had Kai gone into school on the afternoon to receive his mark, before leaving for hospital.

And it said its policy of authorising no holidays during September has to be applied consistently.

Seems the school can trump three Disability Cards!

Even more reason to move to school vouchers. We pay for schools. We py teacher salaries. They are our employees.

What we do with the time we pay them to work for us is our business, not theirs. The idea of being fined by our servants is absurd.

You have completely missed the point. Attending school for a set amount of time is the law – flout the law and you get a fine just as you would if you were caught speeding.

Since kids don’t get individual tuition parents can’t pick and choose when their sprog attends school.

Question is whose kids are they, the state’s or the parents?

Children whose births are not registered cannot be taught in state schools.

Two, it would appear, genetically disabled adults procreate to produce a genetically disabled child?

    That is evil.

I can’t believe the school actually used the Comic Sans font on their sign.
