Geography Is Racist!

From Exmoor to Northumberland, the country’s poorest people are being denied access to England’s most beautiful countryside and missing out on the mental and physical health benefits that can result, research has found.

Denied how? Are we building Trumpian walls, with checkpoints at each National Park entrance?

Almost half of the country’s most socially deprived areas are more than 15 miles by road from 10 national parks and 46 areas of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), according to a submission to a government review into how national assets are being managed.

*blinks*

Well, yes. It’s being that distance away from the urban slums that makes them ‘areas of outstanding beauty’, isn’t it?

The study was commissioned by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and has prompted calls for better bus and train links from towns and cities.

More than nine in 10 journeys to national parks are made by car and Natural England has estimated that people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds account for about 1% of visitors to national parks despite making up about 14% of the general population.

Who cares? Seriously, who on earth is counting? And why?

Blimey, CPRE commissioned a study to discover what’s obvious?

I do hope they are not just another fake charity, i.e., taxpayer-funded, as they should have to justify pointless expenditure like this.

Also, the “P” for Protect suggest they are working against their own brief – adding bus services will allow more footfall and hence increased degradation of sensitive environments.

I think, inevitably, when a charity gets too large, that’s what it becomes, without fail, and no matter how noble it’s principle at start-up…

Keeping Traveler communities and their rubbish dumping culture away from areas of natural beauty great idea, minority communities may have no interest in the countryside and deprived areas may be of great social scientific interest and may be a natural habitat where they feel they belong, If they want to get away many of them visit Costa Del Crap.

Just a shame we didn’t have a Campaign to Protect Urban England (CPUE) to stop those towns becoming such shit-holes in the first place.

When entire government departments exist solely to find this sort of problem you know the state is massively overfunded. Let’s stop being nice: these illegal immigrants, gimmigrants and 2nd generation migrants all live in cities, in ghettos amongst their own sort. They don’t like this country, they don’t value this country, they don’t care about this country.

    Send them away.

CPRE seem to have ignored fact most/all towns have Parks, Village Greens etc – London hass many huge (>1,000 acre) parks

iirc Henry VIII opened Royal Parks to public – CPRE appear ignorant

CPRE – another “charity” taken over by Left SJWs

15 whole miles? Entire, full miles? Not even ‘country’ miles? Not those longer nautical ones either. Crikey. But wait….. all those “people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds”, didn’t they walk across Europe to get to where they live now? Hundreds of miles: some, thousands. Can’t they walk the short 15 more? Or jump on a lorry at a service station, perhaps ? Or find a nice policeman to give them a lift.

      Another good point!

15 miles is well within bicycling distance.

Just another instance of a charity being influenced by the Common Purpose mantra of “leading beyond authority” and getting involved in areas that are not within it’s normal remit.

Just like the Canal and River Trust, who are pushing the health and happiness benefits of canals and rivers. Pretty innocuous until you see the money they are spending on health and happiness projects rather than spending on canal and river maintenance. Y’know, the stuff that’s a priority for a charity whose primary role is to deliver navigable canals and rivers….

      +1

      Imagine the future:

2030 – RNLI “Charity” no lifeboats as all volunteer crew resigned/sacked for not being SJW/PC; RNLI paid staff give lectures in schools/unis on why all ship crews must be multi-culti, gender neutral & LGBT+ positive.

As Soros is dead, no donations; all funding from UN, EU, UK Central & Local Gov’t, Quangos etc

      • February 15, 2019 at 12:01 am

Regarding the RNLI, I wonder how long it will be before it’s sued after rejecting a non-swimmer, or taken to task for not having low/zero emission rescue boats.

Not forgetting all lifeboats to be equipped with ramps for the wheelchair-bound crew, signage in Braille for crew with visual impairment and a stock free sanitary products for the crew-ettes who forgot.

The top article is dated 14th February 2019.

It all looks OK on my PC/Firefox – not at all like your description of it.
Could it be a problem with your PC/Mac or browser?
