Islamophobia! Homophobia! Transphobia! FarRightPhobia(™)!

Of the four terms, descriptions or ideals listed above, three of those four are inventions to categorise and inhibit comment or opinion which may be construed as offensive to the person, grouping, mythical ideal or religious body concerned.

The fourth, namely FarRightPhobia(™), is my own invention, as it seeks to wound by classifying any person, group or Political Party who attempts to stray from the recognised and accepted Liberal ideals so carefully protected by vocal minorities as ‘FarRight’. Straying by virtue of applauding ‘Nationalist’ politics, populist (there’s another pejorative term for people who wish to band together to protect what they see as their heritage); or any other person, group or even Government which seeks to protect its own National traditions.

Of the three other categories of ****bia’s, I consider them all to be equally bogus, relying, as they do, on their self-administered Hate Crime status for persecuting and silencing any who oppose their ideas, ideals, politics or twisted notions of sexual orientation.

But my own named invention is a ‘DogWhistle’ term for a whole arc of characters ranging from the ‘Anti-Islam Activist’ Tommy Robinson; then through the Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban, trawling in the whole of the new ‘Vox’ Party in Spain, alongside the solidly nationalist Polish Government, the Dutch politician Geert Wilders, onwards to the hoped-for accession by Farage’s Brexit Boys: and any number of Youtube commenters who stray a millimetre away from the liberal line.

The new Right have a place, and if they succeed, as I earnestly hope they do, in swelling their ranks within the EU Parliament, the former Elite will suddenly be looking at, for the very first time, an Opposition worth talking about. Just think, an EU Parliament, holding a Right-Wing standpoint majority, looking at, as it can; the Budget for the EU?

The Left use such insults to shut down debate. The veracity is meaninngless to them. It’s solely about silencing their enemies.

“…‘Islamophobia’ – an accusation designed to silence any criticism of or questions about Islam…”

Response: Phobia means irrational fear. Fear of Islam is rational as they are told to convert non-believers or kill them. Sri Lanka murder of >200 Christians by Muslims shows Islam is a deadly threat

A phobia is not simply an irrational (that is, without reason) fear. That is a very ‘loose’ term. It is in fact ‘Atavistic’. It stems from a deep genetic bias which developed waaaaay back in our early time as a species when things killed us even as we slept. We bacame hyper-alert to them. So we have a phobia against rats and snakes and spiders, and heights, but not against harvey wallbangers or lambourginis.

Human beings are ‘learning’ creatures. Learning is hard won and takes many ‘exposures’ or practices to become automatic. Not so with a phobia. One, single instance is enough to trigger a total response of flight or fight. Few run away from an islamic person: few set to fighting them.

      More’s the pity.

        Well put.

Humpty Dumpty remarked to Alice ” when I use a word , it means just what I choose it to mean” there are few notions currently being used in such a generous way as “phobia” a slippery term, it is used successfully nowadays to shut your frigging mouth up.

Really, I have a book called “Common Sense”, by one of my heroes Thomas Paine, I need to buy Tommy Robinson’s book “Enemy of The State” both men freedom fighters found the British establishment then and now have a loathing of the common man, Brexit has the same root cause as the American War of Independence. Hopefully our coming revolution will not be bloody but it will be fought against two powerful enemies. all the best.

It seems that when most people think of the far right, they are thinking of the likes of Hitler and Mussolini. As far as can see, fascism is basically socialism but more openly racist. To me that means that what most people regard as far right is really quite far to the left.

I am in favour of free speech, low taxes and small government, a live and let live approach to personal freedom, free trade, all those kinds of things. I am not in favour of socialism which has a proven track record of unmitigated failure. This apparently means that I am a National Socialist.

I am with you and how that makes us National Socialists is a sign of how warped Lib, Lab, Con, msm etc thinking is.

Having watched, nothing inappropriate or offensive: no mention of race, religion, sex, gender, immigration. Criticised Politicians especially Labour.

      No justification for neutering TR.

If I was in NW England, I’d vote for him as a way to show no trust in our career political class.

I think you will find that ‘the far right’ attachment came from Stalin when he likened the nazi party to be far right compared to his Communist socialism, the left have picked up on that and used their distorting mirror to hide behind rather than face facts.

      • May 6, 2019 at 7:45 am

Sounds plausible, but do you have a reference, some provenance?

Hitler is almost universally vilified; Lenin remains entombed on Red Square as Russia’s most distinguished corpse; and modern Russia is looking more kindly on Stalin’s memory
